Ariana 7by MakkaComment: Very nice pose indeed. Probably like this best of the bunch as well.
For the duotones - the lack of tonal separation really sucks the life out of them (in my opinion). I don't think gray on gray works to your advantage for that type of processing. Just my 2 cents. |

Aren't I Cute?by MaryOComment: Man, all of the shots of this bird are great. His coloring is just wonderful and makes such a pleasing gradient in this light. Any chance you could do this one in black and white? |

Not sure it really proves anything other than a candid shot doesn't always look like a candid shot. If you told me you were three feet from this guy shooting with an 85mm and telling him 'look over there', I would have bouht it was a regular portrait session.
I think the other side of the argument in that thread was more of is a telephoto shot of someone buying an ice cream cone down the block a portrait? At least tht was my take.
Anyway, hell of a shot. Was one of my favs in the challenge. |

linesby rodgers_leComment: I always wonder with a shot like this if the DoF and focus were conscious decisions or if the photographer is just clueless. You should add some notes explaining what your thoughts were. Focus on the boobs to make some sort of statement about women being viewed as sex objects? Simple tits shot hoping for a good score? Some other reason? I would love to know. |

Symphony Pastoral by OdedComment: Horizon line. Never tilt the horizon. Apart from that I get no sense of rhythm here. I find the light pole to be a disruption in the scene, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing. |

Rhythm of Warby JasonMooreComment: Not bad and certainly a creative entry. Wonder if you couldn't have found bolder patterns to present just by finding a different perch to take the shot from. I'm thinking a few seconds earlier the barrels of those guns were lined up in a nice fashion shouting 'photograph us! we're challenge material!' heheh. |
