ok here this goes... I guess I just liked the s-curve shadow that goes to the bottom of the neck to the top of the breast. for some reason i found that really beautiful and want to emphasize it by having eveything else out of focus. My focus intent was to show off theshadow and inear quality that the picture has. I thought I did an ok job with pointing the eye towards that. But now I see that the breasts even though they are out of focus is the first thing that the eye sees. Which is why I put photographs up here in the first place. And I wish now that I had a clever pro-feminist reason why but i just really like that shadow and those lines.

If I was shooting this photo, my first instinct (and would not have been anywhere near as interesting as this photo) would be to have a deep DOF so it would be all in focus.

I agree totally

very nice indeed. the colours, tones, composition, DOF, all very effective, and affective too.

I always wonder with a shot like this if the DoF and focus were conscious decisions or if the photographer is just clueless. You should add some notes explaining what your thoughts were. Focus on the boobs to make some sort of statement about women being viewed as sex objects? Simple tits shot hoping for a good score? Some other reason? I would love to know.

is it not possible to offer criticism without being so damned rude?

Nice playing with light, but I think the focus should be more on the face to make it a true portrait

great nude, i like the focus point to be just in the middle of her breasts and her face, the two parts of the body, that usually grab a man's attention ;)an 8

When I think of a portrait I think of a picture that portrays some aspect of a person's character. Her face is obscure and the stripes from the louvres are the main focus here. Somewhat creative but not quite portrait to me.
