Stock: Military and Defenceby SharQComment: If I were buying images like a picture editor does I might find it hard to use this one to illustrate "Military and Defence" as you suggest in your title. I would worry that the rifle is pointed toward the head of one of the soldiers (it might not be, it just could be taken that way) and that demonstrates carelessness ... not something I want in the military. The focus is on the mark and the background is not distracting from your main subjects. |

Communicate hereby vjozComment: I think this image would be better if it were sharper overall. There seems to be a dark spot along the right hand side and a few other spots (maybe your CCD needs cleaning). None the less, you've handled it quite well with the lighting and framing. |

Winter Foliageby karmatComment: Good use of the rule-of-thirds concept. I think the cones are just a little dark compared to the sky but I could see this used in a textbook or along with a magazine editorial piece. |

laptopby kosmikkreeperComment: Very nice high contrast image. The shadow in the upper right corner could be thought of as adding to (very subtle leading line) or subtracting from the image (draws the eye away from the main subject). Unfortunately, I think it draws the eye away. You've done a good job of keeping the shadows to a minimum. You've certainly met the challenge. |

Illuminated Texasby AnachroniteComment: Nice job of the selective focus to emphasize a particular American state. The use of the black background leaves room for a caption if necessary and leaves room if an editor wants to crop this to a vertical without destroying the picture. |

one item, wine, glass, drink, vertical, nobody, close-up, empty, curve, blue, fragile, transparent by Pep VentosaComment: I like the blue color and your overall lighting. You've not only captured the challenge in your photo, you've even followed through with the title! Beautiful job. |

Circlesby JackoComment: Nice job. I can't see where the beginning (or the end, for that matter) is so it's quite intriguing. The black background helps the image stand out. |

Making Waves by kosmikkreeperComment: Nice pattern and a very clear closeup. You've met the challenge quite well. The monochrome adds to the picture. |

Benched Snowby crabappl3Comment: You have a good eye to have noticed the patterns here and you captured it very well and in great contrast. I know I'm so tired of the snow, I'm not really looking at it anymore. |
