"That's funny Mr. Tuff Guy!"by NaldComment: Ha! Okay, okay, all the technical comments are on target.
But my first reaction, and the one I hope you were going for, was ha! I mean, your expression is priceless.
So thanks for the smile. :) |

Underworld Passageby JeffryZComment: Hey, congrats! I'm just a wee bit disappointed to learn there's nothing down there after all. But what a terrific use of rotation to create an effect! |

From The Horse's Mouth by PedroComment: *laugh* This was one of my favorites - gave it an 8. I really appreciated the different take on "perspective."
Congrats on your finish! |

An Honorable Perspectiveby bvoiComment: Congrats on the finish!
This was one of my favorite images from the competition. I gave it a 9.
The perspective effect is wonderful on its own, but it also carries the emotional impact as well of those graves multiplying the further back you go. And the sepia coloring intensifies the sense of loss.
Edited to clarify that both the perspective and the "carrying back the emotion" were good. Message edited by author 2006-08-14 17:45:59. |

...the view from my backyard...by annasenseComment: I really like the firework a lot. I think the trees (bushes) distract from it, though.
Obviously, you can't retake it, but try to think about that as you take future shots. The bushes obscure the lower right extremes of the starburst. You could use the house behind the bushes to convey a sense of scale to the burst.
However, you can try editing them out. Or at least burning them so they're not so visible.
But regardless, you should feel lucky you get such a great view at home! :) |

schweizerische nationalbank zehn franken [found in a loaner corolla]by annasenseComment: I like your trusty Ikea lamp. I have no idea where I bought my lamp. :)
I like the shot overall. However, I prefer your alternate. I have to ask why you went with the portrait orientation and the tighter crop in your submission, when you changed both in the alternate? Those would've been allowed even under basic editing rules. Message edited by author 2006-07-17 01:30:21. |
