Monarchby ladyhawk22Comment: Alllmost a stunning shot. Unfortunately, and you're probably aware of this already, the focus is sharpest on the flower, not the butterfly. Also, and this is less important to me, losing the tip of the wing makes it feel incomplete. But it's a good shot nonetheless. |

Arctic Dreamby prenticeComment: The horizon's tilted left. No wait. It's tilted right! :)
In all seriousness, this is a very cool shot. It seems to me, though, that the snow should be brighter than it is. With an advanced challenge, I think it's probably possible to brighten it up without destroying the beautiful color in the sky. |

DSC_3161web.jpgby trnqltyComment: Interesting how the angle of her body makes her more vertical in what's obviously a tilted shot.
I like the lighting and her expression.
Her foot sticking toward the camera makes it look pretty big!
Overall, I think the tilt takes away from the shot for me; I keep tipping my head to the right to try to see what she really looks like. |

Door to Windowby posthumousComment: Let's get the basics out of the way first: the exposure's fine. :) I might prefer to have the bench out of there, but hey, I realize you took a photo of a real place, not a staged shot.
I don't find the wall all that interesting to look at. The texture's kind of washed out, although the stones in the upper right provide some variety.
But what's interesting is that I'm having a figure-ground problem. That is, I first saw the two green areas as the subject, and thought "huh. waayyy off-center in a very deliberate manner."
Then my mind flipped and saw the central column as the subject. I quite literally hadn't even glanced at it at first.
And then I flipped back again.
So it hits me more like an abstract. If that's your intention, you did it very well. :) |

Agave Mauveby sherpetComment: Quick! Take it down and enter it in the pastels challenge! This might be a ribbon-winning shot.
Oh, oooookkkkaaaay. So you didn't take it during the week. But go do it again and enter THAT. Message edited by author 2006-08-31 11:29:32. |

Show Offby LERtasticComment: I'm stunned this didn't score higher. I think that's the first time I've left such a comment, so I really mean it. I probably would've voted this a 7.
Nice job! |

The Godfather - part IIby chipucComment: Great! The B&W, the pose, it's all dead on. Err - shouldn't there be a rifle sticking out of that towel, though? |
