I would try cropping so the emphasis is more on the mans face and hand. I find there is too many other things in the photo.

Excellent capture. I like this image because it expresses the character of the subject. I find so many portraits are pictures of people (or animals) and not pictures ABOUT people (or animals). You do a wonderful job to show something about this cat and its contentment. I give this a 10 (and if you're curious, in the six contests I've voted in, you are the first 10 I've given)
