You caught the surfer is a really interesting stance, the shot has some real drama which is great. The down side is the image looks to be way over sharpened which hurts the overall appeal. 5

with the shoreline being centered I think it would help the shot to have the shoreline level, the lights for the buildings also appear like UFO's in the sky which distract's from subject of the shot. Not really sure what you could do about the lights except maybe take the shot at dawn or dusk so the building outlines are still there so the lights are not just dots in the sky. Good luck in the challenge - 5

That building always cracked me up, even when you see it in person it really does look like a big basket. I lived in Ohio briefly, not too surprised to see the gray sky! Good luck in the challenge.
