Bottle, rain and treeby hajekaComment: Pretty cool scene, If I could make a suggestion, I would crop in a little tighter to get rid of the legs of the table and the black edges and the items sticking into the frame. Those items just distract from the bottle and the rainy fall scene which to me are the focal points of the shot. Items that do not add to a photo tend to distract and get peoples attention away from the focal point of the photo. If I were to crop this shot I would crop the bottom up until the openings between the legs disappear, crop the right to where the gap between the table disappears and crop the left side and top to where the protrusions disappear. Good luck in the challenge. |

They came at nightby bobccComment: Interesting choice to use B&W for a balloon burn shot. I am used to seeing the glowing colors in these type shots but I find the B&W strangely compelling and interesting. I love how the B&W accentuates the texture of the balloon and how the light from the burner is lighting the crowd up. Well captured and framed, good luck in the challenge! |

Rusty Shackby orvaratliComment: I am always so jealous of Northern Light photos, it is a sight I want to see some day. I love the processing on this shot, the tones of the building work beautifully with the lights. Nicely done, good luck in the challenge. |

the jumperby 2mccsComment: There is a lot to look at in this shot but I find myself wondering what I am supposed to look at, where should my focal point be. As I look for the focal point I get drawn into the brightness of the beam in the lower section and the darker upright on the left side instead of enjoying the shot. I love all the angles and lines I just wish there was maybe a main focal point used to drawn you into the shot. I like how the upper oval sections frames the windows in the building and maybe something like that may have been better than the entire scene. |

Malayby fotomann_foreverComment: Beautiful scene and subject, the framing IMO is way to tight on the head and the feet are cut off which really affects how well the shot works. I also am not a big fan of skies that have been pushed a little to far in PP. With a few tweaks this could have been an even better image. Good luck in the challenge. |

Watercolored Worldby wildirisComment: The colors are beautiful but the crop just seems awkward to me, I really like the praying mantis and IMO maybe a little less foreground to get more attention on him may have worked better. 6 |

Tiffanyby Dr.ConfuserComment: I thought this one might get scored poorly, I had to study it to see the triangle but when I looked at all the elements together there is a nicely composed triangle, really great shot and very under appreciated. I loved it! Message edited by author 2010-09-21 19:00:55. |

Early Rowby nickybComment: I think if the horizon was leveled and the crop done differently I would have liked this one a lot, I like the color tones and the subject and although its not a true underexposure the low lighting works. One thing that really bothers me is the buoy on the right, it looks really out of place and IMO is a big distraction and should have been left out of the shot. Good luck in the challenge. |
