Great job! I really like the use of the chosen color in this one. I love the silhoutted figure standing above some very strong and solid looking rocks. It is also a contrast between the unfailing and imperfect. Nice tones and movement in the sky. I'm upping the score because originally, I did not see the beach aspect of it, but now I know it's a jetty or breakwater, and can see the beach. Going from a 4 to an 8.

Great job! This is a gorgeous shot. The colors are out of this world, as is the setting. The sky is gorgeous, with just a hint of over-processing in the lower right and left portion of the clouds. The reflection off the water is gorgeous too, as is the movement in the water itself. Nice silhouttes.

However, a water shot, or even a shoreline shot, does not always mean 'beach' in my opinion. And meeting the challenge, to me, is the first and most important thing, if that isn't done, then anything else is unimportant. Doesn't mean it's not a beautiful and creative shot, because in this case, it absolutely is! I do love it! I went back and forth on how to score your pic, but I do vote low for those that I don't think meet the challenge, so to be consistant, I am voting this lower than I want for the reasons stated above. Although I did mark it as a favorite, sorry, I couldn't vote that way.

Great job! A very lively and interesting black and white photo, and emits a feeling of fun and nostalgia. I love the movement showing in the water, and your ability to capture the fun of the moment. Great job! I like the consistant tone of the sky and water/sand in this photo, only broken up by the pier with lights. The reflection is stunning, and the remnants of the ripples in the sand made by earlier waves is gorgeous! I'm raising the original score that I gave you, from a 4 to a 6, as it's above average, just based on the interest of the foreground alone. Nice job staying on theme.

Great job! A very pretty photo, with great technical merit, great perspective and use of color. I love the various levels descending down to the water. Each is interesting in it's own regard. The movement of the water around the rocks is also nice. However, a water shot, or even a shoreline shot, does not always mean 'beach' in my opinion. Great job! A beautiful and interesting black and white photo. Nice movement and mood in the water, and the mountains on the distant shore are gorgeous. A couple of problems though. First, in the foreground is a couple One seems to be fairly in focus, and the other is blurred. I think this is a result of a mistake with post-processing. And secondly a water shot, or even a shoreline shot, does not always mean 'beach' in my opinion. Great job! A beautiful pic, with great color and movement in the sky and water. The mountain peering from behind the clouds and haze is gorgeous. I also liked the city on the distant shore that seems to be catching some beams of sunlight to light it up. I am a bit puzzled about the 'beach' aspect though. I do see a pile of logs that may be washed up on the beach, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. But so you know, my thoughts on the matter are that a water shot, or even a shoreline shot, does not always mean 'beach' in my opinion. Raising the original score I gave from a 4 to a 5, to reflect my 'benefit of the doubt'.
