1.21 Gigawattsby MQuinnComment: Listen, I'm not mad or anything, so here's my take on it.
I voted it a 5. Technically the exposure was good, but the focus seemed to be a bit soft. As far as composition goes, I found it too centered, especially since the bushes to the left throw off the centered look.
But, aside from my vote, I believe that voters got over-exposed to shots of industrial plants. In both our case, it seems the box is either too full or too empty. |

curves of early morning lightby stumpyComment: I like the idea of the shot, but it has a few problems. Tilted horizon is a big problem for me, that could be easily fixed in a graphics program. Composition could be stronger, perhaps moving the model to the other side of the bed and not having hte matress showing on the opposite side of her could have strengthened it.
Your background failed to go completely black on the black portions. That would have helped the shot some.
I'm going to give you an 8 though. Nudes in non-nude challenges don't tend to do really well around here, so I wish you the best of luck. |

Collecting booksby casmComment: Good idea, but execution could be tuned.
Things to work on: The Window lighting is distracting. Change angle so that the window light comes from your back or from off to a side.
This would also eliminate the shadows from the flash, whcih make this a snapshot quality photo.
Try to use the rule of thirds in your photos. The subject, in this case the girl would have been stronger if she had been moved to the very left of the composition with books filling the rest of the frame. |
