The Ruinby e301Comment: I like the foreboding and dramatic light and dark colors. Crisp focus really adds too. Interesting subject matter as well. Good job. 8 |

Misty Morningby jodiecostonComment: I love the mysterious and mystical feel of this image. The tones are great and it's coloring looks like an old style tinted picture. 8 |

Mercyby hopperComment: Beautiful creamy skin and nice focus on the eyes with good catchlight. Looks to me like there is some slight tint of green to her left chin and under her neck. I like the behind the tree composition and DOF too. 7 |

Solitudeby p_johnsComment: Looks to me to be a special place where heaven touches earth. Really like the contrasts here of color and how the luminance of the sky is brough out even more with the silhouette and low-key tonality of the image in general. I do wish the hill had some undulating shapes for variation and I would have also liked to have seen the person standing off center. Other than that, a very dramatic image. Well done. 8 |

Rachelby dsa157Comment: Nice subdued and naturally lit portrait of this very pretty young lady with good focus and catchlight on the eyes. Light appears just slightly too strong as you've lost some detail in the forehead and cheeks. Low contrast gives a nice quiet feel. 7 |

Ethan, Dirty Face and Allby smellyfish1002Comment: Wonderful tones and facial expression. Narrow DOF really helps to isolate the sharp focus on the eyes and very good catchlight in the eyes, as well. 7 |

Film Noir Gun Girlby magnetic9999Comment: Gorgeous Femme fatale ! Lighting and tonality is exceptional and portrays well this film genre. I love the look on her face. I just wish the gun was all one tone as the bright spot just above the trigger is distracting, but this is really minor in a really exceptional photograph. 10 |

Interludeby PedroComment: Subject matter is very interesting and along with the wonderfully rich sepia tones make for a very compelling street/candid portrait. Focus is very crisp and DOF really isolates well the subject from background. The busyness of the background, though still discernable, is offset very nicely by the brightly captured jacket of the musician. The jacket almost becomes the "centerpiece" for this image as it symbolizes the weaving of music he must be playing. The lines of the jacket, along with the parallel lines of the traffic cone, instrument, R-leg and pillar muscian is seated against also give a subtly obtained rhythm. The details, down to the positioning of the hands, look on the muscians face and position of his head all add to an exceptional photograph! Very well done. 10 |
