unnamedby PanoComment: Nice use of a wide-angled lense and good perspective. The orange highlighting adds to the image. There are a few jaggies on the railing the foreground leaves in the lower right are a lttle out of focus. but overall this is a good and appealing image.
I was lost in a considerably different environment, of course, but stark just the same. Would have been fun sliding down the rail though. - Steve |

Steve is going with the flow...by stare_at_the_sunComment: Nice flow image. I'm either try to get stop action on the water or a nice smooth flow pattern. Neutral density and/or polarizer filters are good for getting extended exposure times without overexposing te image.
Good challenge interpretation and very, very accurate. You have to have some understanding of and respect for a harsh environment like the Sonoran desert in summer. Forget that and you will get in trouble fast. I did everything possible to minimize the dangers... I went "with the flow" - Steve |

Lost on Marsby BrinComment: Nice Marscape. It has a realistic look and feel to it, too. Like the sky and desolate landscape. Not a bad rendition. Here is The Real Mars. Though this is not exactly what it looked like, it accurately conveys what it FELT like to me. :)
On a serious note, I learned after I got back that one of the signs of severe heat stroke is delirium where the sufferer often removes their clothes just before they go down for the count. This frequently happens to illegal immigrants from Mexico that try to cross the border in southern Arizona and die of exposure. Not a good way to go.
But I would not have recognized that sign in me. How would I know? Whenever I get around beautiful women I already get the urge to remove my clothes. LOL! - Steve |

He's In Here- Help Me Break It Open!by JeffryZComment: This explains a lot of things regarding my disapperance. No wonder I was gone for so long and with those horns you can see why I was not in any hurry to escape. As I recall, I finally escaped after this beast finally rolled me over Niagra Falls inside the barrel. - Steve |

Scouting the Desert for Steve, yummmm fresh meat ;)by vtruanComment: This image is very meaningful. B&W is a good choice for it to. Great use of white space.
I saw plenty of vultures like this one circling around everywhere I went. I kept reminding them that as long as I was still moving that they had to keep their great big beaks off me! They waited patiently for me to keel over but I fooled them and got out! - Steve |

Honey, I Shrunk the Steve!by banmornComment: Ya know, I was wondering exactly what happened to me. All is clear to me now. It makes perfect sense. This explains everything - why I could not see to find my way out, how I could not locate known landmarks, how I could travel large distances everyday but still get nowhere and why I could be lost for so long in such a small area without finding my way out. Thanks! I feel a lot better. ;) - Steve |

he's up thar ^by skewsmeComment: Like the barn and the framing. Looks like there was a bit to much noise reduction applied. Wished I'd have been pictured with a cute babe up in the loft. That rendition looks almost like the way I really felt. LOL! - Steve |

Follow Steve's Footprints, And You Will Find Himby AlainComment: Ah Hah! Great thought! The shoe pattern even looks like the pattern on the ones I was wearing. Get a storm blow through tho and all those nice prints in the sand are either blown away by the wind or swept away by monsoon rains. - Steve |

The Backyardby sadiebirdComment: If this is your backyard I'm jealous. This looks like it was taken on the south side of the Superstitions and not far from the Peralta trailhead turnoff. If you go all the way over to the other side of Supersitions from here further north from the mountains than this location is south of them then you will be approximately in the area where I was lost. The main difference is the terrain on the other side is a lot more rugged. - Steve |
