Babyby JackoComment: I might recognize this little guy, Jacko. You certainly have one of the most photogenic babies and you do a tremendous job with those images. This should get the blue ribbon. If this is not a jacko entry I apologize. Either way I just gave you very high praise. The image, however, speaks for itself. |

Sent Out of Classby darcyComment: The technique to desaturate all but one object or color is OK to know but it is way overdone and there really is not much call to use it anywhere really. However, you have done an EXCEPTIONAL job with it in this image. The technical quality here is about the best I have ever seen at this site. This is one of the best images in this challenge.
It is one of my top three choices. |

40by melismaticaComment: Interesting concept. Overcropping the 40 works well with this image. Red and blue are always good colors in photography. Overall the image appears to be slightly soft focused to my taste and reduces its technical merit for me. There is nothing special about the lighting either. If possible, taking the shot from much further to the left or right to change the perspective and point of view would improve this image immensely. In that case shallow DOF might also be good, but I am unsure of that. Esthetics is important too. This image leaves the viewer asking, "What is the significance of the 40?" but does not provide an answer or make it seem more mysterious which would make it more interesting. Rating - 5 |

Finding my place in the worldby jmritzComment: What a wonderful capture. The trees and the road make this image special even though the light on the road itself is slightly overexposed. You have captured your thought well. |
