Eilan Donanby GordonComment: Great scene, good framing, decent color and lighting. Focus seems a little soft but a terrific vista. |

Lone Treeby omnibusComment: The setting for this image is wonderful and a good photo choice. This reminds me of the problem I always have photographing cactus because they are generally much taller than the things that surround them like you have with your subject here. I try to offset it to one side or the other with something of interest on the other side of the frame to balance the image better. Don't know if that can be done here but centering images generally gives them more of a snapshot quality then an artistic nature photograph. |

On Mother's Dayby David.CComment: What a nice idea for Mother's Day! You choice of subject and quality are good. Framing is well balanced on the frame. I would use noise reduction to smooth out the background noise a little bit. I think a little more contrast weould make this image even more vibrant. However, I would NOT use brightness/contrast adjustments for that. That is because increasing contrast would lose some of the flower's marvelous detail. Instead, in photoshop anyway, I would use "selective color" to deepen black more. This has the effect of increasing contrast without losing image detail. In any case this is a very nice image. |

Tulipsby willtataComment: The tulips bending in the breeze on a spring day is great. The fence makes a great background. The size of this image hurts it for voters. This is such a pretty picture it begs to be bigger on the screen. You are allowed to have images up to 640 pixels on a side and you should always try to use all of it if you can. |

Spring Feverby hallswelComment: Flowers will always be great subjects for photography. I believe yours was taken in overcast or shaded conditions and that is always best for flowers. I have some suggestions for improvement. I might choose a specific flower as the main subject for my composition and use framing and depth of field to highlight it. I would saturate the colors and increase contrast to make the flowers really stand out more. A shallower depth of field would work nicely for you with this image. Sometimes I even apply sharpening just to the main flower to highlight it more. Though this is not exactly like your situation here I have an example of some of these thoughts with images of the same type flower you can see here:

WTC-Amishby Herblacklist12Comment: The mark of a good photographer is to be able to see something and present it to the viewer from a different perspective as you have done here. However, the technical implementation of it could be improved. Overall the focus is softer than it should be. You might be able to saturate the colors to make them more vibrant and increase the contrast of the image to make it stand out more. Above and to the right of the sign is overexposed and I do not know what you might be able to do with that. I sometimes use darkening within a greyscale layer applied to the overexposed area to tone it down, but I don't think that would work with this image. The best thing, I think, is to take it at a different time of day so that the lighting is not a problem. |

learning patience...by rhipsterComment: This is such a nice capture and you have used nice DOF and framed the bird well. I am unsure if there is something that could be done about that in the original but the overal focus of the image is not very good. That is too bad for such a nice capture. There is some noise in the background but you could easily get rid of that with noise reduction software such as NeatImage. |

Minivan Reflectby koltrane75Comment: This tree makes a wonderful study for photography. It has great, huge branches that could be photographed an infinite variety of ways. The angle you are taking it from here is fine. The image itself has sky noise. Noise reduction software, like NeatImage, could be applied across the whole image to easily remove that or you could apply gaussian blur just to the selected sky. The view from inside the car does not work well for me. The refections in the glass distracts me. Though the angle is OK I would crop out the horizon completely and get much close to the tree if I were taking this shot. |
