Dead Man's Chestby MAKComment: Lovely shot/lighting/colours etc - nice furniture and floor as well. Sort of misses a bit of the 'do something creative with', but what a magnificent piece.
It'll be 7 or 8, I'll give it 7 for now :) |

Night Constructionby NikonJebComment: Let's see now - Alfred Hitchcox was forever tilting the camera to bring out the oddity/scariness etc in a scene. Whether or not you intended that, it hasn't worked here for me. I would have used the horisontal floors or the roof line for orientation and cropped to that. That's one of my pet peeves though, so it may be worth ignoring.
The area under arc lights is effectively blown out. I think that works against the theme of the picture. It's good for the construction workers, but to put over the idea of night work in a picture, maybe it would be better that the work were more poorly lit, and the shadows more obscure.
There's a little (exaggerated?) application of my thoughts there.
I think it needs to be a little 'wrong' to bring out surprise feeling you had (?) when you stumbled on the scene... |

Tree Wallby jaysonmcComment: Good for your wife. This is a terrific picture with a harmonious linear composition (or something like that). The fact that it nevertheless garnered a score under 6.5 is manifest evidence that you are among Philistines. Present company excepted. Had you been able to eretain the compositional theme (i.e. keep the unbroken wall background) while including the top of the tree and the rest of it to the right, then it might have improved the result. Maybe. Way underrated shot, anyway. |

One Thousand Years Strongby noranekoComment: Flamin' Ada that's a tree and nine halves. The lighting is difficult, but you done good. As for the passers-by, there should be some younger tree to string em' up. |

whimsyby kdkaboomComment: It's not like re-inventing the wheel or anything, but doing something creative with furniture? Oh yes. 7 |
