Venus Meltingby JunieMoonComment: I like this one :)
Howwweverrrr....(don't you hate hearing qualifiers like that?)... I just caught myself tipping my head, for the third time, to see it rotated 90CCW. I guess that's the way my mind likes it best, for some reason!
(gave it an 8, btw) |

Vertical Stair Bridge at Daedunsan Mountainby BHusemanComment: You're right, I like the Wukong better too :) It's got the depth better, richer and more natural colours, and doesn't have the haloing along the top of the ridge.
Oh, and... wonderful shot to begin with, btw! |

26th Anniversary by kawesttexComment: Watch the reflections on the glasses. Take-out container is distracting.

Basically Beautifulby DrAchooComment: This, IMO, is the perfect example of what this challenge was meant to do; show that one CAN produce a wonderful portrait with great eyes without having to rely on heavy post.
(Doesn't hurt when you have a stunning model either :D ) |

Miss Emmaby MelethiaComment: The DOF is absolutely perfect, to get her ears in focus but drop off immediately beyond. Totally lovely. |

The Holy Terror Catby MelethiaComment: I love it :)
The lack of detail on his right reminds me of Japanese paintings, where a few simple lines imply a great deal of form. What detail there is on the left lets our mind "fill in the blanks". Great job with a tough model subject! |

Can't goes back someone will destroy your childhood memoriesby whiterookComment: My post from the "Posthumous Ribbon of the Week" thread;
Folks complained about the processing but I think it's perfect for the sentiments expressed in the title.
The perspective, from a distance... the feeling of now looking in as an outsider where one once belonged...
The lack of contrast, the grain, the posterising... the distortion of childhood memories and dreams brought by those memories...
I really can't express it, but this shot strangely moved me. |
