A fly's worst nightmare!by wetlandComment: Wow. Very cool subject matter. I'm not sure that you needed to include so many in the shot - perhaps a close up of one with several others blurred by depth of field might have worked better photographically, but I see where you were going by your title, making it look like a huge forest of the buggers... I think you accomplished that pretty well. |

Manhattanby MarkS224Comment: Wonderful cityscape. I think you filled the frame superbly. I particularly like the bottom half because the tones are so nice, but the contrast seems to fade for some reason towards the top of the image... I know dodging and burning in the challenges isn't allowed, so I'm not going to mark you down for that, at least you didn't cheat and try to spot edit. Great composition, really invokes the feeling of city life. And I think the black and white adds a lot to that feel as well. 8 |

Inside The Musicby BabyHeadsComment: I really like the folks that had fun with the literal interpretation of "fill the frame" - an extra point for creativity. This is a really beautiful shot, the lighting works perfectly for b/w and I like the tilted composition a lot - it adds even more visual interest. I get the feeling that the front of the frame is angled a bit away from me, and I'd like it maybe to be angled more towards me - just a tiny thing that hangs in the back of my mind when I look at this. But overall I think you did a beautiful job. 9 |

summer dreamsby ursulaComment: Wow - it looks as though the sun is literally coming out of the flower and shining on the stamens. Totally awesome lighting job and composition. The yellow on the brightly lit stamens is a tiny bit oversaturated, which takes away some detail from the part of the subject that my eye is really drawn to. If there was just a bit more detail there, this would be a 10. Still, an amazing and inspiring shot. 8 |

69 clothes pinsby connieComment: Really, really nice. So sharp and such fabulous texture captured in the pins. The dof could be increased just a tiny bit so the whirly-gig on the pin on the right was also tack-sharp - I find it a tiny bit distracting. Still really good, an 8. |

Customby Chilly0999Comment: Great lighting, interesting composition. I like that you included the two doohickeys (my technical instrumental vocabulary is a bit lacking) at the bottom. Color jumps off the screen at you, nice and sharp... I'd be interested to see more outtakes from this shot - I can't help but wonder if a diagonal tilt somehow would add to it... But very nice as it is, that's just a thought that crosses my mind. |

Upwardsby tyrkinnComment: Beautiful. I think this would work well as stock imagery. Composition is very nice and I like the high contrast. |

Watching The Detectivesby jimmythefishComment: Awesome shot. Great dynamics in a couple of ways - first, the triangle created by the men's glasses; and second, the sloped lines all through the photo that point in the same way the men are looking. DOF was used very well, the closest subject it tack-sharp and the others are blurred enough that they're still definitely a large part of the image, but it adds depth to the shot. The black and white tones are perfect throughout the entire image. Just doesn't get better than this. 10 |

Chrome Descentby magnetic9999Comment: Beautiful. Someday I hope to be able to master black and white with my digital camera like this. Excellent composition, spot-on focus. Great job. 9 |
