hi carisa, thanks for the nice comment. what i did with the eyes in this one was:

select with magnetic lasso
feather 5 pixels
adjustment layer - slective colour
- adjust neutrals (is it, or is grey? the one with the little grey square)
- play with the cyan, magenta and yellow until you get the colour you want. this does only give one colour, so you don't get the variation of colour of a saturated area in a colour photograph, but it's a little more subtle than really bumping up the saturation.

single colour

RGB saturation

a nice shot, but the background and exposure rather bring it down. i wish there was a little more light and brightness on her face and arms, less yellow relection from the floor. the background is quite distracting, and would benfit from boing blurred. either shooting with a wider aperture, or using post processing to blur it. there's a good tutorial on blurring backgrounds in the learning section of dpc.

good work, and keep shooting!

a well exposed image, but it just feels... empty. yeah, i know the challenge is empty room, but others feel filled with emptiness, while this one is just ...empty. i'm sorry, this makes no sense, does it?

i think this might have benefitted from a wider angel to have more room init, or a landscpe format, to emphasise the emptiness. i think that the expanse of wall is rather heavy on hte pedestal.

a very nice image. abstarct, but not unrecognisably so. the main probelems are the flecks of whit on the left side - very distratcting - and the noise. this is one image that doesn't benefit from noise. perhaps either a wider or shallower depth of field - so the cd is either crisp or completely out of focus. right now it looks just - not in focus, unintentionally. the star filter might be a bit distracting too - i'm not sure...

good creative thinking a nd setup. well done.

i'm still wonderin gat the disqualification of this image. is excessive burning (what i'm sassuming you did) not allowed?

a good image - works well. and a great title - very funny!

a nice idea, but the colour balance and the tilted horizontal really don't help. if the milk was white, that would help a lot. there are tutorials on both removing a colour cast and straightening horizontals. the focus is good, and the composition is quite good.

very nice homage to dorothea lange. a tighter crop might have been more effective.
