In the Bowels of the Cityby timfythetooComment: Interesting that I did not notice the sidewalk image as a seperate image/texture until reading the comments. A great example of using editing to enhance but not to draw attention to itself. |

Water Colorby PhotonurdComment: Gorgeous. Colors and composition are just lovely. This should be hanging on the wall of a beach house somewhere. :-) |

Blue Vase with Pinkby DeniseLComment: Oh my goodness... this is such a gorgeous photo. You captured such detail in the vase and the DOF is lovely... and the background just compliments the subject so nicely. Amazingly beautiful shot. |

Home, Sweet Home!by NikonJebComment: I gave it a 6 as well, and my main reason was also that it seemed "flat". I think that if this had been a basic editing challenge this photo would have been great. I mean, it's a good subject that fits the challenge nicely, the composition is great, and I think overall it is a good photo! But in advanced editing, and now in the new expert editing, I think generally the voter is going to look for a photo that has more "wow factor" or "impact". Maybe if the house had been colored a different color (which I'm assuming could theoretically (if difficultly) be done in expert editing)... but then it wouldn't be as drab looking.. so you're kind of in a bind as to what to do. I do remember thinking as I voted that the drab feeling definitely suited the subject matter... so I don't really have anything to suggest. Hope this helps a little bit anyway. |

In the split of a secondby holidayComment: I've only gotten through a bit over a fifth of the images so far.. yet I still can't help but wonder if I am looking at the blue ribbon winner. Colors and composition are just excellent, as well as lighting and DPF. In addition, this subject is presented in a way that makes it a perfect fit for the challenge. |

The Last Hurrahby elsapoComment: A nice image I suppose, but it seems too overprocessed or fake for my tastes. I also feel like I want to see the fireworks emphasized more prominantly in the frame... I don't mind that it's small but it does seem to be dominated by the clouds somewhat. |
