I like the mood of this shot, though I wish the shadows werent as harsh as they are especially on him. He is also a bit too far right and having him cropped is a bit odd. All that said I gave this a 7.

Great simple capture. I am glad you didnt go for a negative space crop and remove the pads. It adds a good dimension to the image. Very nice.
