Oh don't say too simple! I love this. Sometimes when things are over-thought they look that way. You nailed this with something really natural. I like the composition a lot too, esp. the branches across the back. The fact that they lead into the focal point helps to keep the image from bouncing all over the place. There is a lot to look at, but you managed to lock me in to what you wanted me to see. Success!

I really like the idea, but the colors don't entirely work for me. That's not so much your fault as it is the overcast sky. I say great attempt, and go for it when you have some sun to bring out some more of the dramatic qualities of the riverbank.

I LOVE this. It's romantic. I went to art school, and I know a lot of detailed ideas of what it could represent often turns people off -- especially myself. However, I love the colors, and the lighting is just wonderful. It reminds me of the feeling of being dumped. My first 10!

I really loved the idea here, but I feel your contrast is way too high. I think the highlight on the upper right takes away from the focal point of the 'busted' area. I really think you should give it another go, however, it is a really great idea.
