Stoneby alexgarciaComment: Awesome, Alex, simply awesome. There is nothing I do not like about this capture and it is a great use of HDR, too. |

ilegal.jpgby MAKComment: Aside from being a tad jealous at missing the GTG (although had a good day in another context) this one really CRACKS ME UP!
Sorry Matt but couldn't resist... |

My Flatby taljComment: Ya know, I thought I recognised this place. It was only when I checked your photo that I remembered it was Leeds. Spent nearly 12 months in the Malmaison Hotel in Leeds on an assignment and this is an interesting reminder of those 15 hour days! :-)
Great photo, too |

3by hannekeComment: Great shot, Han. Was not too sure about the blue tone but it grew on me the more I studied the picture as did the desaturation.
My only comment would be that I would have liked to see the grandmother leaning more to her left, closer to the child, pulling the generations closer together with the kind of subliminal message that the "young come together through the old". I also think the line connecting the top of the heads would be interesting in itself with that kind of effect.
But then, what do I know? :-) |

Captainby LevTComment: This is a wonderful character shot and really like the way the DOF has been controlled. The expression says it all for me. |

au revoir (never goodbye)by Ecce_SignumComment: I guess I will never understand the voting patterns here. To me this is simply the best high contrast photo in the challenge and yet it did worse than my own humble submission! It is animate and evocative and yet captures so eloquently the profound emotion implied within the title.
I have very few favourites on DPC but this is now one of them. |
