Goodbye to All Thatby Bear_MusicComment: About to slam the door close and depart with a sigh.
Compared to what depicted in other images, I do like the more realistic idea that the woods will still be there, just inaccessible. And just a safe and boring highway to travel on, pretty fast but with not much to visit on the way.
Rated this a 7. On second thought, I could have done better than that. Message edited by author 2012-02-03 06:09:18. |

Screamby MinsoPhotoComment: Great pose, and the water/moisture gives you a great barbaric fuzzy beard, really funny :D

Jackie Masonby IAmEliKatzComment: I love it, a really good one. The radio and bending lady on the background add quite a lot.
My only nitpick would be about the highlights on the face, a bit more skin texture would have been nice. But it could be my monitor blowing highlights. |

not giving upby LevTComment: Human beings are strong..
Such a strong image.
Excellent choice of posture and timing to capture it, very well delayed and touching. |

Solitude Interruptedby NusbaumComment: You knew nothing about portraiture and came up with this image and processing?
One of the best portraits I have seen here on DPC, on so many levels. |

Thought Control by gyabanComment: Woah, what are all carrying?
votes?
sorry Christophe, I couldn't resist :D
very good job as always.
my only nitpick would be that simulating some more heat and dust in the air on the puppeteer, which would have gone well with the giant fire and the strong wind that seem to be blowing on the scene, but I am nitpicking. |

controlled freedomby flahermaComment: I love idea, postprocessing, composition. The DOF makes for a dynamic image (assuming the image is straight from the camera, which it looks like). The only thing is that the image makes me think more of 'controlled fall' than controlled freedom. If that was the intention, I understand that for you the act, and the 'controlled freedom but still freedom', could have been after all a good thing.
I tried looking at the image upside down, in order to reverse the concept :), and perhaps it would work by tilting the framing a bit, but ideally if the string was attached to the 'tail' of the butterfly rather than the head.
Just a thought though, I am not 100% sure of your intent.

screaming gullsby jmritzComment: I think I am getting your impression of twittering and facebooking :)
Before reading the title I thought it might be "silent screams" as the post-processing very much reminds me of silent movies and the frozen instant is pretty dramatic.
