Real Loveby irish_princess87Comment: This might have made more of an impact if less of the words were hightlighted. You've used the shallow dof and lighting to key in on the important phrase very nicely, but it's hard to resist the urge to try to read all of the highlighted text. |

I love a walk in the snow at twilightby tojlewisComment: Interesting shot and lighting, though it feels more like a daytime shot which was edited to have the night feeling since it has such a bright edge on the footprints. I like the diagonal composition and how you got whole footprints in there instead of cutting one off. One of those shots in the challenge that definately needs the title for me to make the connection to love. |

Unfaithfulby HighNoonerComment: Nice vibrant complimentary colors, but parts of the yellow look blown out. Not sure that this photo depicts love to me without the use of the title. |

Sandprintby tiggermoComment: A bit static with the centered composition for me, but I do like the angle and the sand texture. Interesting border with the slight variation in color and the shadow. |

Love Trainby RingostarrComment: Not quite fond of the choo-choo train kid setup here, but it's an interesting composition and keeps me looking around at the different cars/critters. Nice surface to place it on and good vibrant colors, but the purple backdrop seems like it's set up kind of crooked? |

A boy's best friendby MackThePenComment: The expression on the pooch is just adorable, but it looks like you caught the boy at an awkward moment. Great close up shot of the two... you can definately feel the love :) |

Zozo shaking.jpgby bex85Comment: 2 people have now picked this as their least favorite from your portfolio in the thread that is going on... but I kinda like it! |

Elementary Fluteby Jason_CrossComment: Wow, you ended up with a lot of comments here. I like the minimalism in the shot, but it needed a bit better lighting to come off the way you probably wanted it to. Someone pointed out the shadows under the mouthpiece for instance. I'm not an expert with lighting, but trying to light something this wide, maybe reflecting some light upward onto a reflective surface that shined back down on the flute would have worked? These basic editing challenges are much harder because you can't make those fixes in individual spots with the post processing. Go team D50!
As an afterthought... I think this also feels backwards to me, since I would hold the flute with the mouthpiece at the left if I were playing it. Might not make for the keys looking as neat though. Hmm. Message edited by author 2007-02-21 12:28:26. |

Johnny Rockstar: Age 8by BrielleComment: Well, those are some interesting comments :P I thought this looked a bit 'snapshot-ish' too, but I was happy that the photographer had at least thought to put the boy in front of a whole background instead of just wherever. It does have a soft feel to it overall, and I think if he had been playing with his left hand on the guitar as well, it might have given a better impression? Cute kid though... he looks like he'd be handy to have around as a model for other challenges if he's such a ham! Go team D50! |
