I Love My Bababy vladoComment: She has an incredible face. I'm not sure if it's the camera or the processing (based on the great lighting, I'm going with processing), but it looks like there was a fair amount of data loss, which hurts the quality. There also appears to be a lot of chromatic abberation (particularly noticeable in the heavy cyan halo on the top right side of her head). It's too bad about the quality because this is an otherwise great image! |

I Love my Big Sisterby snakurinnComment: The light on their faces looks great. I love how the light falls off right at the edge of the frame on the left. I think the hair light (particularly on the girl) is too bright and there should be a little more light on the boy's pants so he doesn't blend in with the background so much. Otherwise, great capture of their expressions. |

Sisters in Life - Friends at Heartby HeiSchComment: Lighting them from below (which is called "monster light" for a reason!) unfortunately counteracts any feelings of love in the image. The light creates dark bags under their eyes and ominous shadows behind them. The dark clothing doesn't help the mood either. |

I love rock and roll!by smardazComment: I love the pose, but I wish there was a little more light on her face. Pull her away from the background and use a shallower depth of field would to turn the background into soft tones (and help hide the wrinkles!). |

"Oh, thanks! ... I LOVE cheese..." by LydiaComment: I think the ungroomed-ness of the mouse's fur gives off a slightly "diseased" feeling (usually only sick animals don't groom). I think that takes away from what could be an absolutely adorable image. The idea is great and the moment is perfect--the mouse's expression is cute and he seems very possessive of his cheese : ) |

Hand in Handby qui-bowComment: I think the border is too heavy. It only emphasizes how dark the image is. I'd like to bump up the exposure to bring out a little more detail. I do like how the couple fits so well in the scene. |

With Love For My Heartby h2Comment: Food photography is pretty hard to do, but this looks absolutely scrumptious! The shadows and the darker color of the ribbons in the corners creates a natural vignette too. |

He loves the snowby whiteflyerComment: I love that the background is blurred out enough to make the bird pop, but not too much that the scene is obliterated. The perspective makes the house look like it's the perfect size for the bird, and that reminds me of a scene from a fairytale. |

He Protects Meby JudiComment: I like this image but I see some points that can be improved. It looks to me like the focus is more on his near arm than his face. The background is also a few stops too hot--it's bleeding onto the boy, blowing out the highlights on his shirt and arms and creating a strange glow around his head. The boys pose looks relaxed, but his expression looks more sad or pained than loving or protecting. I also might put a reflector or bounce card camera right to give a nice catchlight in his eyes and provide a bit of directional light on his face. |
