On thin Ice ... ooopsby ShutterPugComment: This is a miniature, right? Unfortunately, it feels like it -- actually, I had a bit of trouble figuring out what I was looking at at first, thinking it was some sort of strange box or case, maybe a couple feet long or so, then I figured out the vehicle-nature of it, but it went smaller rather than larger for me... Still, it's a nice shot, and the trees in the background (also fake, or just tight aperture on a close-up?) do help me understand the scale intention, if not feeling it directly. 7 from me. |

Angel Flew Too Close To The Ground by ColeyComment: I like this shot -- it has a certain je ne sais quoi that really captures my attention. That said, it would elevate to "I _really_ like this shot", I think, if either the left side (i.e. the tree and about 1/3 of the space between the tree and the person) were cropped off, or, perhaps if she moved back about a step -- to about where that gap in the snow seems to be. I'm giving it an 8, but it could easily be at least a 9, and possibly a 10, for me. |

Leaf Lineby admart01Comment: Beautiful. I'm curious... Did you photograph the whole leaf, and then crop it off, or was it partially cropped from the beginning? (I'm presuming a 2:3 (or similar) ratio camera...) |

pink channels on leafby striveComment: Surely this isn't how this leaf looks naturally... is it? Going on the assumption that you're following the rules of basic editing -- how did you do this? Some sort of special lighting?? Interesting. |

Safety Textureby dahvedComment: I think it would have been extremely cool if you could have gotten that rail fully in focus (while still leaving the rest in focus, too)... |

Heads or Tailsby shankswareComment: Very very nice. Some of the pennies aren't quite at the right angle, which I find distracting somehow, but I still like it very much. Good work! :-) |

Descending Fungi Patternby joycobbComment: I think this image would be a lot more impactful at a slightly different position and/or angle... Perhaps move your camera to the left a bit, but then aim it to the right a bit, so that the tree is on a diagonal like a slash (/)... Just an idea. |

Presentiment of Deathby grusComment: Alright, I'll bite. How'd you do this? :-)
For the background, it seems easy enough... it's grey stone with snow, so not much chroma to be had... But you seem to have gotten the leaves to go away, too.
Hmm, per-channel levels and/or curves?? Anyway, I'm curious. It's a nice shot, and neat to think it was done with only basic editing. |
