Sleeping Inby levyj413Comment: Might have benefited from a shallower DOF, and a boost in contrast - the image seems a bit dull tonally. Clever set-up though. |

Advance to GOby NuzzerComment: Needs a bit of a boost in contrast (there's no real black or white in the image - all shades of gray), but otherwise a really nice photo. |

Night shiftby SilviComment: These Free Study challenges are usually hard, because everbody votes relative to the other entries, instead of simply rating an entry on its own merit. And when some of the best photographers on this site have entered, that sometimes makes it tough on the other entries.
I think this shot deserved a much higher score. Nice colour and a very sharp silhouette. Well done. |

Solitaryby whiteroomComment: Another photo that I voted 9 in this challenge that didn't seem to appeal as much to many others. I think the minimalism that is obtained by making it b&w really strengthens the image.
And like I said to WSteyn on his entry in this challenge, had I known it was a fellow South African photog, I would have given the extra 1 to make it a 10 :-)
I really like your work. Continues to impress me. Well done. |

Redundancyby wsteynComment: I came back to look at this one again. It was one of my favourites in the challenge - gave it a 9. Had I known it was by a fellow South African, I might have given it that extra notch and made it a 10 ;-)
Well done. Great photo. |

The Dockby maestroComment: After coming back to have a look at this shot again, and seeing the original, I like it even more.
This one should get a special award for creativity in the post-processing phase. You took a mediocre shot and turned it into something that really stands out.
Congratulations. Great entry. |
