in the treetopby margiemuComment: Nice and sharp with great color. Shallower DOF would really make the subject pop, but as the owner of mostly f/4 or smaller lenses I understand the equipment challenges. :) |

Ducks in the Mistsby NikonJebComment: Lovely shot. I wonder how it would look with the foreground duck in focus? My eye is definitely drawn to the ducks in the water (midground) due to good DOF, but I keep coming back to our little friend nearest us and wanting him to be the sharper subject. nice scene. |

seven geese a posingby Shan2112Comment: I like the b&w treatment: it's a winter scene, it's cold and stark, there's little vegitation, etc. I also like how all the geese are looking left, as if something is going on and they're poised to go check it out. Perhaps more effective use of the Channel Mixer could be employed, given Advanced Editing here, to draw the geese out further from their surroundings; as is they blend a bit too much IMO. Nicely captured scene. |

Buffalos- The Kings of the Nature Preserveby hyperfocalComment: Nice, gritty, old west feel to this shot ... which lends itself well to the subject. A little more shadow detail in the face would be preferred (though perhaps tough given the dynamic range), and the composition makes the this large beast seem quite small actually ... you don't get a sense of scale. |

Fluffing Feathersby robinssongComment: Nicely composed/cropped and I like the detail ... very sharp subject. The floating feather(s) make me chuckle for some reason, like this poor guy is going bald just standing there (he's static yet feathers are falling). The biggest detractor is the treatment/toning, which is too purple for my taste. I'd love to see this in either color or a more neutrally toned b&w. Nice capture nonetheless. |

On Their Turfby muur88Comment: I hope you kicked one of them after taking this! ;-) Nicely done, setting them against the cityscape and from a Pigeon's POV. |
