New Year in Brisbane, Australiaby GIS_boyComment: My second favorite shot in the challenge. Outstanding! If you don't ribbon you've been robbed...but I'm sure you know you're going to ribbon with this one. My only complaint is that the horizon seems the slight bit tilted to the right. Maybe it's just me. |

Mill in Botanic Garden Aarhusby palfinComment: For me the photo does not meet the challenge (man I hate saying that). The photo is decent but not spectacular. If you score really low on the photo I imagine it's because people don't see how it fits the fireworks theme. Having a good photo sometimes seems less important at DPC than actually meeting the challenge dead on. Make sure the audience clearly sees you met the challenge and THEN make it a good shot and you'll score much higher. Good luck. |

Buried Aliveby DrAchooComment: While the photo doesn't really speak to me per se, I can't believe some poor sap allowed themselves to be burried like that! Ok, anyone going through that much personal discomfort for a shot deserves a little higher score. I'd normally give you a 6 but I'll give you a 7 for your effort. WOW |

From Russia With Loveby dsidwellComment: While it is a very good photo and the model has a striking appearance, nothing about it really rings of "Bond." The outfit doesn't appear Russian to me and the mountain effect in the background, while a good idea, doesn't componsate enough to make it appear like "Russia." Good technicals on the photo but this doesn't nail the challenge in my opinion so I'm giving you an average score. |

Opening Creditsby cresusComment: Two things hurt you here in my opinion. First, the image is fuzzy and jagged around the edges and second, the colors are almost "Austin Powers" like rather than Bond (though I realize Austin Powers parody's Bond films). I thinks nude sillohette could have been THE way to go on a Bond challenge but this didn't capture it the way I would have imagined. Gave you a 5 but could have been much higher with a few things fixed. Good luck. |

The name's Bond, James Bondby dx_powerComment: I really like the halo effect you have going here. I'm not real fond of the wall paper though and I can't really read your facial expression. It's almost a look of "I don't want to see this when I shoot you" or maybe "I don't want you to splatter my clothes when I shoot you." Either way it looks almost as if you're reluctant to pull the trigger which sort of makes the picture odd for me. |

Thunderball by glodaComment: I really like the lighting technique you pulled off here. A real good concept and well executed. I'm curious to see how it scores. I didn't pick it as one of the ribbon contenders since there were several I liked a little better but a friend of mine thinks you'll ribbon. Now I'm curious. Good luck! |

Shaken, not stirred. (Goldfinger)by dogzComment: Ok, you have to prove me right here. I was just saying to my friend that if someone does a "splash" shot right they nearly always ribbon. He saw this splash shot and said, "this this will ribbon?" "Yeah," I said..."thats a ribbon." It's a good shot, don't get me wrong, it's just a little cliche around here. I sort of hope it's your first attempt at a splash shot and that you haven't ribboned before with splash shots. Good luck. I gave you a high score for good technicals! |
