Enjoying the Scenery

Motion blur, uninteresting composition, rear view of the subject (no pun intended). Not sure this is the strongest shot you could have submitted. It' appears you were out with a buddy photographing scenery. Why not ask him to pose in front of something interesting or get his shadow in front of it while he's composing a shot.

Seriously? Not sure what you wanted to convey to the voters here. You did meet the challenge, you do have a person in your photo.

Wow! I wonder who got tickets to this concert last week? ;-) I might have used a square crop and excluded the bass from the shot.

Drive by shooting? I say this due to the lack of sharp focus and over powering frame you've used. While the shot is somewhat emotive, I think it'd be more so in black and white. No I'm not deduction for the frame, but you have to concider if it compliments your shot or distracts from it.

A snapshot that may mean a lot to you and these ladies, but in the mindest of a contest this shot is centered, with harsh lighting. Camera angle is you standing there taking a photo. The shade to the right would provide better lighting. A different camera angle might provide more interest.

Cute, but pretty flat overall. Post processing appears over sharpened.

I appreciate that you got down to get a better angle for this shot, but all in all it's not much more than a snap shot of your little girl looking at the paper. Your title even brings that feeling off more. With someone of this age running around the house, I feel that you could have come across a more universally appealing shot for the voters.

Why did you chose to be so far from the subject? Is the subject the field or the person in it? This shot also screams for Flash fill. With the light location and the distance from your subject this shot has a snapshot feel to it, even though I feel you were trying for a nice portrait in the field. Get in closer and reflect some light back into her face, and I think you'll be pleased with the results.

I like the freckle, not so much the dirt. Good strong composition none-the-less. Are the eyes that bright naturally or did you dodge them that bright?

Onboard flash and non-flattering pose of you little girl here, make for an image that may mean a lot to you and your family, but in a contest forum it's lacking in appeal that will bring the viewer in and make them say 'awwww'.
