My eye travels along the curves and bends in the road following it down to discover the spectacular clouds blanketing the valley below and rolling over the hills! Wonderfully presented scenery that perfectly captures the sinuous nature of this curving road in the gorgeous countryside!

Love the juxtaposition of the black and white snake with curling locks that spread out like a halo around the woman laying on the floor! The paired imagery strongly invokes the idea of the Medusa from Greek Mythology. Composition of main subjects, detail, and lighting are all fantastic in conceptual portrait!

Love the lines and curves in this abstract study of shapes and light & shadow! The sphere is nestled in the flowing curves of the undulating paper. The B&W really calls focus on the play of light and shadow as well as how it highlight the shapes and lines in this capture. Beautifully done!

Love the strong contrasts between light and shadow in this black & white photograph! The glean of light on the brick pavers and the shadows that act as leading lines back to the people strolling on the path. I think 'walks of life' as I look at this photo. A runner 'disappears' into the light. While it does 'mask' the runner's identity I feel it is as much of guess me if you can as it is also a catch me if you can. I feel the viewer takes an active role in this scene because curiosity of 'who is it' compels one to run to catch up to the person disappearing into the strong burst of light from the sun.

Spectacular golden light in this beach scene! The warm tones of gold and orange capture the feel of a summer morning spend on the shore. Love the silhouettes of the lifeguard and the seagull in flight as the day awakens and the ocean waves roll in!

Gate Change

Plenty of surrealism and mystery in this photo! This traveler finds himself in a strange land. A 'gate change' has landed him in unfamiliar territory. Pulling his luggage behind him, silhouetted against the sands, he scans the rolling dunes where there is a spectacular play of light and shadow. Alone in the desert without another soul to be seen, he wanders in search of someone or something familiar. Great light, great mood, and tells a chapter in the story of life's journey. For we all feel like this stranded traveler at some point in our lives. Well done!

Two together strolling home as the day is done. Love the mood, the shadows on the ground, and feel of this capture! The setting sun heralds the day coming to an end. The warm tones and the close proximity of the couple invokes the story of a day of fun and togetherness - it was a good day. Walking on the curved path towards the setting sun they head home together to rest.

Lovely light on this early bird! I like how the light rims the head and the body - outlining the subject like that of studio hair lights. The bokeh backdrop allows the subject to visually pop off of the composition. Great details and fantastic capture of this bird in action gathering twigs in it's beak for building the nest.

Through Thick and Thin

Love those rays of sunlight bursting out from behind the sun-rimmed clouds above. The light is beautiful upon the clouds. The sun's rays is what guided me to the silhouetted plane that is flying in the cloud deck. Without those 'leading lines' I think the plane would be missed as part of the main element in this photo. As it is it still gets a bit lost in all the negative space. One suggestion I have is to tighten up the focus on the composition's main elements - crop out 1/3 off the right and on the bottom and let the rays of light, the dramatic clouds and the airplane take a more prominent role on stage in this photo.
