Anything that makes me chuckle out loud gets a 10 from me.

Great choice of username to depict, and great depiction of the username.

Hi Judy, thanks for the comment on my photo.

I like yours too, your daughter has such a coy smile. Also, the bold pattern of her scarf is a great contrast against her black jacket.

I know we, as photogs shouldn't do much to pose these 'snaps' or else they aren't snaps any more, but you had a great eye to compose this shot as you did. Also, from a technical standpoint, the DOF is right on. The face and eyes are very crisp. The composition is perfect as well!

Great job.

Hi Alan, thanks for your comment on my shot.

I looked through your portfolio and was immediatley drawn to this shot, just from the thumbnail. That's always a good sign, right? :)

This is a really emotive picture. It immediatley draws you in, and it tells a story, which is what I think all photographers strive to do. You really feel sorry for this little guy, and you want to know what happened to fell him. I'm quite suprised that it didn't score better, based on how loudly it speaks to the viewer. I wonder if it wasn't just too powerful for some... but you can't let that stop you from taking the shot.

Technically there's a lot to love also. I don't think you did a selective desat or anything, but the contrast of the color of the bird against the grey of the asphalt is just great and really helps add to the emotion.

My only suggestion is that the depth of field seems even a little too shallow. You don't want much] more, but a little more to bring the stones just behind him into focus too would have been nice, in my opinion.

This is a really powerful shot, and you should be proud of it.

I had this pegged as a kpriest ^H^H^H Art ROTFLMAO original. Good thing I didn't call you out in the comments. :)

I loved this one. A comment that I didn't get a chance to make during the voting is that I love the low-key lighting on this shot. I've got to start working on quashing the urge to throw 600 W/S of strobes at everything I photograph. The more I look at DPC the more I realize that good photography is as much about shadow as it is about light. This shot is an example of that.

Again, good job and congrats on your top 20.

Robbed, you got robbed!

Seriously, returning for a second look, and I'm amazed that you did not place higher than you did.

I will go along with the crowd and admit that it's over-exposed, but only ever so slightly... not by much at all.

Depth of field was perfect, in my opinion, but a tiny bit less exposure might have made the cheese foot prints a little more obvious.

As for the composition that you were concerned about, I think its perfect too. No need to see more of the mouse trap, we know what it is. The composition adds interest, in my opinion.

If I could give it another 10, I would.

Keep up the great work.

One of the better entries in it's class, but not a really originial idea, nor is it as strongly linked to the challenge as those that really had cheese in them.

It's not what I would consider the best interpretation of the challenge. Photos which depend on the title to be linked to the challenge are not as strong an entry as those that scream out the challenge title on their own.

Enter it in an astrophotography contest and you've got a winner.
