Snowboarder Day 15by emily212Comment: Neat shot; people against the sky are always good subjects. Did you post-process this at all? Was it snowing? If so, you're probably out of luck in trying to get more contrast and color in the sky, but it might be worth a try; this might look really good in b&w, too! Neat image; brings back memories of sliding down mountains on my bottom! |

Feb 5by elemessComment: It does pop, doesn't it? I like the composition, it has a nice, balanced feel to it. |

Thistleby daboardergirlComment: I agree with everyone who said the long lens makes it pop (nice shallow DoF), but I also agree including a bit more of it in the frame (so zooming out slightly or stepping back a bit) might have strengthened the composition a bit. |

Sale - parts onlyby ShutterPugComment: I actually skipped commenting on this a few times (sorry); it made me sad, which I guess means as an image it did its job; something that struck me was the way the rescue crew (especially those not at the car) look very matter of fact; I know, they need to be that way, otherwise it would get to be too much, but I think the picture reflects that nicely. I also like the irony in the title. Well done. |

Day 7 Hyperionby agrimaceComment: Very nice shot; I like how you haven't lost the detail in the shadows under the eaves, and that nothing is really overbight (the hydrant has the potential to be a real eyesore in a photo, but it's handled well here). |

Feb-7-Sculpt-Garden-2.jpgby JerseyGenieComment: The red really is the focus here, almost despite the statute (which, as a statue, doesn't do much for me); I think cropping to the right of the tree would be good (as suggested below). You handled the highlights in the statute well; they're highlights, but not too bright. Hope you're feeling better soon! |

Day 7: "Old Bridge"by renegade1966Comment: Excellent shot; I love the lines of the bridge. The light on the structure to the left of the bridge is a bit distracting, but not too much. I might also have tried to move down past the tree (which breaks the start of the bridge's lines), but that might not have worked at all! |
