Clearing Life's Hurdles

What a cool image; starting with a strong image itself, and processing that just makes it stand out. It makes me wonder how much I actually see the horse when horses jump, and how much I see the surroundings, what they're jumping, who else is around. I like an image that makes me think to see what's there. Nicely done.

Excellent image; the tones in the b&w are good, and the textures in the side of the house come through nicely. Use of the shadow for Waldo works so well with the otherwise shadowy tone of the image, and composition is spot on. Delightful.

Waldo was pretty easy to find here, but I don't mind; the image itself is strong, and stands on its own aside from the challenge. The capture here, the lines, and the framing by the trees are quite strong. The tones are wonderful, with the highlights working well so bright against the otherwise darker shades of the wood. Bumping this up to a 9.

I'm editing this to change it from a comment that just said "6" to what I really wanted to type -- and no, "6" isn't your score :) Here are my real comments: I like this image, it's a wonderful black and white with great tones and a wonderful rhythm to the patterns, especially in the benches. I found Waldo fairly quickly, but that's not my test for this challenge (I'm actually looking for interesting images). Part of what I like here is the general emptiness you captured without making it feel cold. It's waiting, anticipating, not lonely. Nice, I give it an 8.

I like this as an image (Waldo was pretty easy to find, but that's okay with me). The approach to land, far off in the distance but within view, preparing to do whatever comes next, the transition from ferry to land, but with the water still a barrier between here and there. Well captured sky and highlights on the water, and composition that I find appealing. Nicely done. 8.

The fog and mist so perfectly bring the foreground of this into sharp focus, really grabbing my attention. Waldo was easily found, but fits so nicely into the shot (as opposed to being kind of "inserted") that it works really well for me anyway. I love the whole appearance of this, and want to go walking in these woods searching for elves and fairy princesses. Delightful. 9.

I liked this despite Waldo being so easy to find; it would almost be a better image without the person in it. But the blues in the pond are so wonderful, so deep and true, glowing, even, that I kept coming back to look at it again. Balanced against the pale colors in the sky, it has quite an effect. Well done.

This so much looks like an oil painting to me; wonderful subdued shades and colors, and what almost appears to be a canvas in the background (is it a wall); wonderfully captured and presented. 9.

I loved the colors in this when I first saw it; it's a wonderful shot, with great greys in the building, reds on the wheel, and greens dominating the rest of the image (blue green in the water, plant greens everywhere else). Waldo was easily found, but that means little to me when the image is as strong as this one is.

Such clean patterns here, juxtaposed against such a dramatic sky, makes for a great image. The shades and tones of the black and white works so wonderfully. I want to run along the outside just looking at the sky. Wonderful shot. 9.
