He's cheating. The water is clear, I can see the ground underneath it, even in the picture. Cheater. He can see the fish, but if they see him, they don't understand what he is. He can see them, dangle his bait in front of them, move it back and forth enticingly, the bait placed unceremoniously on a string and stick, maybe even a safety pin for a hook, he can lure them in, and then suddenly, they're hooked. This is some kind of fish horror film . . .

The trees here for me are marching, toward to the right, together (see the first one leading the way?), at war with the clouds, tired after ever so many years of always getting rained on. They are fighting back, are going to clear the clouds away with slow, mighty sweeps, exposing the sun. I like it.

And by the way, I don't think you ever "just" do anything. And I'm glad.

I honestly can't believe the score and placement this received; well conceived, and I love the different lighting on the girl's face; the black and white and the tones add a harshness here that seems appropriate to the message I'm taking away from it (which is along the lines of, toys aren't what they used to be). Delightful. Fav'd.

This one holds more impact as an image for me than the other. The duplication of subject, the varied focus, the slight warping through the lenses, the overall darkness to it, while at the same time featuring glaring lights. An exhibit of near-sightedness that holds its own as an image, as well.

I'd love the pigeon to be a tiny bit more to the left, leaving the frame, escaping from that chaotic background, from the light and shadows that grip it and try to hold it in place for your photo. Delightful feel here.

contrasts

As has been said elsewhere, here the colors and contrasts take a delightfully shot image and push it beyond ordinary, with soft flow leading to a enough sharpness to tease and tantilize. I might have tried to move so that the petal from the left flower doesn't intrude on the center of the right flower, which to me, breaks the flow between focus/blur a bit.
