I think this had a huge potential if you'd managed to get some more detail on the bird because the location and the colouring are just lovely. I have the feeling that the subject may be a little bit OOF but its too dark to tell, it might just be the feather structure.

This si a beautiful portrait. His hair is remarkable and is so beautifully featured by your lighting and setup. The whole effect seems to be a little spoiled by whatever is obscuring the top right of his head. If you had enough extra frame, that neutral top right area would have composed strongly if you shifted your subject over to the RH thirds line instead of the left.
