It looks like the aliens are invading, or something: the luminous green of the house and street, the glow of the streetlamp, the mysterious ropey streak in the sky and the slanted ufo sort of thing in middle left edge. The purple sky is quite striking. I don't know exactly how I feel about this picture yet, but it definitely is different.

I really like the soft whiteness of the branch/trunk on the left. The idea for "separated" is interesting, but I didn't see that part at first because the left branch/trunk distracted me. I think it would be better if the seperated branch was the soft, white one, and the left one was dark.

Yes, strong contrast....but the contrast is a bit too strong for my taste. The sunset IS nice--love the colors...however...if only I could see the sun!
