Peacock Strandsby DemersusComment: *Critique Club*
Wow looks like you are off to a good start, this being your first challenge you did a great job.
"Peacock Strands" is a good entry into Shallow DOF III because it is something different, not the traditional flowers (which I am guilty of using). This image really does draw the viewer in because the colors are so vibrant. The colors look very true to what they actually are. I think voters may have had a harder time voting on this shot because the DOF is kind of hard to tell since it looks more like a repeating pattern. The focus and lighting look good and well composed.
Overall I think this was a great first entry and I can see your second did very well, so I really look forward to your future entries.

Flower Bathby Paul837Comment: *Critique Club*
"Flower Bath" is a good entry into the Nude IV challenge. I think you did a very good job at being creative and taking a different path from the norm.
Overall I think this is a very pleasing image, and I really love the flowers. The coloring of the flowers is bright but very mellow. Its amazing how unreal the flowers look, but the image still looks natural. I also think her eyes have a prefect glow and draw the viewer in. I can easily see the shot hanging in a bathroom. The editing that you did not great, I don't think the shot is over processed. It was interesting on some of the comments how this shot is too sweet, really makes you wonder about the world we are living.
I can see that you have only done a couple of challenges but you look like you have a great balance of creativity and photography skills. I really look forward to see what you produce in the future.

Vintageby Rino63Comment: *Critique Club*
Wow even before I looked at your title I said vintage to myself, excellent job capturing one word. I think it is a great talent to be able to create something that so clearly define on adjective.
This is a very striking piece and very well composed. I think people try so hard to come up all kids of crazy ideas when you were able to come up with a pretty simple concept and be the only one to shot something like this, and do a great job.
The lighting is prefect and does not create and harsh lines. Also the coloring is great I think you have found the prefect tint for this piece. Overall this is a very wonderful piece. I look forward to your future challenges.

I think this image is one that demands attention, whether voters like it or not you have to stop and look. I personally liked the image because it really grabbed my attention and it was differnt. Also after reading your comments I can't believe he is so tall!
This was an awesome idea and you did a wonderful job of capturing it. I think your depth of field was just right for me because if the image was to sharp I think it would have distracted from the lines that were created. Your lighting and color both look great. I also like the composition, if this were any other shot I probably like to have seen the top of his head but the cropping really works well here.
Overall this is an excellent piece, I am surprised it didn't score higher because you know as everyone was flipping through and voting this one had to grab their attention. Keep up the great work I look forward to your future entries!

"Bear" Nakedby robaComment: *Critique Club*
"Bear" Naked is a great entry into the Nude IV challenge. I think you did an excellent job of keeping the image tasteful and fun.
Overall the image is very pleasing, I think black and white was an excellent choice. The coloring (or lack of color) allows the image to stay simple and clean, nothing too distracting. The composition is very nice. I really like that you included the banister, instead of just having your model floating out in space. I wonder if based on leaving the banister in you were using natural light from a door way. The reason I mention the lighting is it is a bit strong and caused a little bit of a blow out on the bears face. I think overall this probably changed the score, for my self personally it only changed the score by a point. I am sure others would have voted higher based on a softer lighting.
I think this was a wonderful entry and hopefully your model would agree and let you continue to enter the challenges because you defiantly have a creative eye. Also I just have to say for your first nude this is an excellent job! I think being able to photograph nudes is one of the hardest challenges.
