Day 19by talikfComment: Why is it that so many people feel a child has to be smiling for a picture to be good? It's so often more effective to capture those other little nuances of personality. I find it cute how the boy is linking his little toes together, and how the puppy is apparently taking an interest in that too. I really don't think that the boy looks sad, but he might come across to some as being slightly uncomfortable. Perhaps this was the type of photo session where he needed to be given lots of opportunity to just play and interact naturally with the puppy as you took loads of pictues. Both the boy and the puppy are adorable...even without smiles. :) |

Day 17 Tree Houseby ValdoComment: Aside from the lighting issues, this is a very nice portrait of your wife and daughter. I really like the natural framing and the subtle bokeh. |

Day 19 - The Voiceby TDCollinsComment: This is really great, David! This picture lets me hear the music. You can tell that his heart and soul is in what he's doing. Wonderful b&w conversion with a hint of blue toning that works so well with this image. Excellent job! |

Day 19 - Not So Sweetby bdennyComment: My goodness, do you have a stash of old dinosaur bones stored up at your house?!! Yowza! I cannot believe this is the same sweet, perky-eared Sophie that we've seen previously! |

Day Eighteen - Clay Callingby idnicComment: Even though he knew you were taking his picture, this one has a nice candid feel to it. Maybe that should be a new strategy of mine...catch people engaged in an activity where they can't fuss and complain and run away from the camera. :) |

Day 18by mia67Comment: The cuteness factor of this is almost too much to bear...those eyes, those curls, that little curved finger on the nose...this is incredibly sweet! |

portrait15.jpgby Rae-AnnComment: HAHAHAHA! This is so funny, Rae-Ann, and actually it's very good, especially for being drunk! The odd crops and the deep yellowish background tones work well to enhance the drunken mood. I'm not sure why, but for me, everything just seems to come together here...the reflection, the open door, the curtains in the background, the cropping. It looks almost like a well thought out painting. Now, I'm not going so far as to say that you should get drunk and shoot on a regular basis, but...I do think that this is one of your best. :D |
