GBHby vawendyComment: An excellent capture of a Great Blue Heron (I had to look that acronym up as all I could think of was Grievous Bodily Harm :-) ). There is nothing here for me to say un-categorically that this meets the challenge but I will take your work for it. The focus and exposure is perfect and I really like the pose. Well done. |

Before the blueby HistoricusComment: Lovely colours captured on the buildings. I may have opted for a tighter crop as I feel the sky and the areas to the left and right are not adding a lot to this shot. No doubting this shot as meeting the challenge. Good luck. |

Soft Fields of Subtlety by mgarsteckComment: A nice enough photo but I̢۪m struggling to get the feel that it̢۪s looking away from a low sun with sky being so bright on the horizon. The few flowers in the foreground do give the image a nice balance. The bright spot in the sky is a curious thing. I wonder if this is a real wide angle shot and that is the moon. If so, this does show that your looking away from the sun. |

Looking for Mamaby bcrantsComment: I really like the golden colour of the duckling emphasised by the golden hour. I̢۪m assuming you̢۪ve used a rather wide aperture which resulted in the nose being in more focus than the eye. If that eye was in better focus I feel this would have made the image much more special. I do like the smooth water and the ripple effects around the duckling. |

Sunset by svavaComment: I feel you may get pinged by a few diehard rules police who believe that to look the other way from a sunset is to look in the opposite direction. You’re not looking at the sunset so that’s enough for me. I like the silhouetted light on the poles and the colours in the clouds. The snow on the mountains and the blue in the clouds gives the whole image a nice cool feel. The front pole with the ropes feels a little too closely cropped at the bottom but that may not have been avoidable. Overall quite nice – good luck. |

hot wheelsby posthumousComment: What appeals most to me here is the wonderful shadows created by the low sun. Tilting the image so the car is facing uphill I feel is correct to give the image a more comfortable feel even if that means the stone chock is on the wrong side. On my old laptop the rear quarter of the car appears blown. I had a look on my mobile (which I feel is better calibrated) it isn̢۪t that obvious. I do like those shadows and I believe that is what you are really trying to portray here. Well done. |

Dreaming of Horsesby vawendyComment: I gave one 10 and two 9's. This was one of my 9's and the only one of my top three not to ribbon. A truely beautiful image. Congrat's on a top 10 finish. |

Dance with Meby bcrantsComment: Without the shadow this would have been an interesting and well produced shot. However, the shadow has moved this to a different level of artistic achievement that really appeals to me. Well done! |
