Haystacks - A Tribute to the Impressionist Masterby ColeyComment: That is a special shape of haystacks, never seen it before. Haystack images like this are done so often they don't create any excitement with me and neither does yours. It is a nice scene, with o.k. composition, and nice warm evening light, but no wow factor for me. |

The Ruinby e301Comment: Beautiful atmosphere, great scene, I love it how the light (vignetting, burning, whatever) concentrates the view on the ruin itself. The sky adds more drama to it. I am not sure whether a more centered view would have improved it, but would have liked a bit warmer colors, especially on the ruin and the grass. |

Salmon a la mandarin... ready for ovenby greslizzzComment: Sounds tasty, it is a combination I have never had, so it is new enough to qualify for the challenge theme. Exposure and focus is fine. But the image fails to touch me in any way purely because of its composition. The main subject is the salmon, yet I am looking at it from such an awkward angle that it almost feels it is in the way. A bit more distance could have imrpoved it, but better stil, a rearrangement of the salmon so one could see the total head, plus the tasty piece with mandarin next to it. Also you have the grapes and pepper and part of the kitchen in the background plus something on the bottom right, which distracts, does not add anything to the image. A re-arrangement on a nice dish, a slightly different angle of view, no other disturbing elements, would have made it much better. You still want to make it look TASTY and that is missing for me. |

Peace Pleaseby SonifoComment: You should make a poster out of it and post it all around the city you live. Maybe you can start a worldwide movement with it and influence what is happening. The image has all the power to do so, such a young innocent girl in casual clothes, just enjoying the painting, creating such a powerfull message with the play of words. The desaturation is perfect here, it works really well. |

Solitudeby ZoomdakComment: I have seen this rock before (zoomdak ?), but never in such an atmosphere. I love the blue. I love the wide space around it this time, the low tide and the sand pattern. The image gives plenty of space to look around in, while also providing a resting point in form of the rock. The moon in between the clouds is a nice touch as well, good timing. |

Golden Lightby JPRComment: One of the most beautiful images with monkey's I have ever seen. The golden glow on the fur, the position, the expressions, the background, it all fits very well together and expresses a great tenderness and caring atmosphere. I would have liked to see a bit more light in the mothers face, but realise you can't have it all, it is not all under your control and you have to catch the moment. |

Mercyby hopperComment: A beautiful portrait of a beautiful girl. I especially like it how her green eyes match the color of the tree in front and leaves in the background. The flash does create a bit flat light and removes all shadow, could maybe have been a little less. |

Munising Fallsby pitsamanComment: A very nice scene, a small waterfall with a peaceful and vibrant green surrounding. Such an image can help you relax after a long workweek. The longer I look the more I appreciate the subtleness of the scene, it is not overwhelming, just beautiful. |
