Silenceby lennierComment: your biggest problem here is color. The almost bluish pale skin tones of your subject make him look like a ghost, especially in contrast to the rather colorful background. Maybe going b&w on this shot would have been a good idea. Otherwise the shot is effective and well done. 5 |

18th honeymoonby kandyjComment: The lens flare hurts. I could be wrong, but this shot seems like it was forced into "rule of thirds" subject placement, and I'm not sure if that works out best. We don't really see enough of the waterfall to make it an interesting element in the photo, yet the couple are shoved into the corner of the shot. I think a horizontal shot of this might have been more effective, showing the couple on the right side of the frame and the background unfolding on the left side. That way you could show more of the falls and the background could be a stronger element in the shot. It is a nice candid that portrays real life emotion as opposed to staged emotion by models, which I like. Good luck to you. 5 |

Solemnby AleciaComment: I don't like the way the hand works into the frame. Leaving that space blank might work out better. The shadowing of the eye seems off due to the fact that there isn't a significant amount of shadowing on the rest of the face. Maybe a different angle on your light source would work better. I do like the placement of the face in the frame and the expression is decent. I like the dark eyes as well. Overall pretty good shot. 6 |

Melancholyby clues56Comment: It's certainly unique. I don't personally like the dead center placement of his head. Perhaps moving him more to the right in the frame and leaving a bit more negative space on the left would improve the shot. Overall does a pretty decent job of conveying emotion. Using the eyes more might help as well. Good luck. 5 |

Emotional Trauma of Ear Licking Puppyby Silver FoxComment: It definately has a snapshot feel to it. It seems to portray some emotion, but it doesn't really have much impact. This strikes me more as a humorous photo to pass around to friends and family than a work of art. |

Do you love me?by pitsamanComment: I like the clean, stark composition of this shot. I like the way the lines go through the frame and I like the placement of the birds. All and all I think this is a great shot, probably a 9. But to be honest, I don't think it fits the challenge. The title connects it loosely (and somewhat humorously) to the theme of emotion, but this shot doesn't express or elicit emotion in any genuine way, so I'm taking off for that. Regardless of my score though, this is a great shot that I'll probably add to my favorites after the voting. Good luck. 5 |

Mixed emotionsby mvilborgComment: I like this shot because of the variety of faces and people you've captured. I find myself wishing that sign in the center wasn't there so that it would have an unbroken pattern of people, but of course it is needed in order to establish the context. It certainly represents emotion and elicits emotion at the same time. Excellent work. 8 |

Emotional Rendevous with la Chocolate.......by CoopGirlComment: The framing is good. The refridgerator in the background doesn\'t seem to add much but it also doesn\'t seem to take away from the shot either. This shot has some surface level amusement value, but in terms of artistic consideration I\'m not impressed. It doesn\'t strike me as particularly creative or unique, but it does come across as a little distasteful and rather mindless. I wouldn't say it conveys emotion effectively either. I guess the whole concept just doesn\'t appeal to me, although execution isn\'t bad. 3 |

In the Winter Fields ...by nathaliedooComment: Wow. I love this shot. The color is great, the subject, placement, crop, and everything are all wonderful. I hope this one wins. It's my only 10 so far. |

so white, so silentby kenboComment: I'd have straightened out the building and let the foreground tree be diagonal. I like how the snow outlines everything in the shot. Nice work. |
