A Man and his Sheepby posthumousComment: 6 - Nice catch with the sheep looking at the camera. Like the unusual desaturation, although it seems a little odd on the man in the rear. Such a small portion of the image (the sheep's face/look) is key in this, that (although it still works as is) I wonder whether it would have been much stronger with a different crop, but difficult when the shears are at the other end of the frame. Also be good to see the shearer's face, but then that is 'another image' - and I doubt you'd get the excellent look on the sheep's face 'again'. This one does tell a story - including how dirty that sheep looks... |

Homeward Boundby BAMartinComment: Looked at this a few times now - despite the obvious, a very nice capture, which I'm sure you didn't have much time to .. 'capture' anyway. Love the look on the one that is being 'carted'. The whole lot - just a nice capture and image. |

River-9.jpgby SouthCoastOr3gonComment: Very nice portrait. I was going to comment earlier, especially about the sharper focus on the (very nice) log behind, but on looking at this again, perhaps actually softening that - to bring a more universal soft feel to this, may make this even better (and 'rescue' the slightly softer focus on the dog and allow him/her to dominate more). |

Claude (er, Clawed), the Winged Avengerby quicheComment: Wow. Love how the backlighting has made the talons translucent. Shame about that 'something' upper left behind the feathers, but I doubt you had much time for anything else. Don't often get this type of opportunity. Good and unique image. |

Portrait of a Ponyby tembaComment: In response to your request for comments.
I gave this a 4. Quite a nice capture with her eyes and the mane / hair blowing in the wind. Depending what you had to work with, perhaps a variation in cropping, including a nudge rotate up on the right to straighten. The centered composition isn't as strong as something off-centered may have been in my opinion, but again, depends what you had to work with. The tone itself perhaps a little strong (especially on the pink side) but that could be intentional. A variation in the hue/tone may have brought out more features as well. Overall the focus seems a bit soft, but could be a result of the pp.
After reading your comments, perhaps there were better images to be had of some mares with foals, but who knows. |

Spring into Springby TacTZillaComment: Beautiful image and captures. Like the rich green grass against the little lamb. It's a shame that time lapse photography can't play a bigger role here at DPC, 'somehow'. And "three lambs" - ha. |
