The black background is 'odd', but works nevertheless. Seems a few 'somethings' bottom left, with adv.editing perhaps cloning them out, who knows. The sharpness on the beak is good, perhaps just a fraction sharper on the eye, also that 'hair' at the back, 'somehow' detailed/texturized a little more, would likely have made this even better, in my opinion. Not sure, but looks like perhaps you did try to selectively do something with that 'hair', looks like a bit of 'shadowing', or something, not sure, could just be an odd 'bokeh', who knows. edit:typo Message edited by author 2005-12-08 15:31:52. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Depending what you had to work with, perhaps the couple a little more off center, or centered more, not sure. Works well like this, but wonder whether a variation would have given this just a little 'extra'. The colors are nice and difficult to adjust given the variation I imagine. Perhaps a small 'issue' bottom right corner of the frame, 'dark area', not sure. As I said, for me, the best thing about this shot, is the perspective and scale. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Criticism; difficult, but perhaps a little more detail in the fore rocks (if possible without losing the excellent focus as is), may have made this even better and given it an extra element. The cropping (depending what you had to work with) works well, but perhaps a slight adjustment, off-setting more, or balancing more, who knows. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Criticism; difficult, perhaps slightly enhancing the 'blue' of the ice more, the browns in the rocks and pinks in the sunset/rise, may have made this even better in my opinion. Not sure on the frame, works but, at this size, not sure. Of course this size does not do this justice - but you know that. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Criticism; minor, but perhaps the title doesn't 'enhance' this as much as another may have, but your call. Perhaps a slightly tighter crop on the left, a little more texture (difficult and camera/lens dependent likely) in the foreground sand (especially using the footsteps, or not) and a slight tweaking of the colors (contrast issues likely), may have made this even better in my opinion. Not sure on the frame. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/03/2005 07:01:00 AM | Tamarinby nico_blueComment: 8 - Very good. Criticism; perhaps looks a little 'softened', but it works. The capture and 'composition', choice of crop/framing, is what I like most in this. Just to contradict that, if the tail were not cropped, would be good (depending what you had to work with of course), but then you'd likely lose the detail you have here, and/or, just be a different style/shot again (obviously). Possibly contrast/blow out issues in the 'hair' but, very difficult to adjust this I imagine, especially while trying to retain the 'softness'. Still like to see a little more detail in the face, especially the 'right' eye with the same 'sparkle' as the 'left'. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/03/2005 06:55:47 AM | Hybridby CEJComment: 8 - Good execution. Good color & color matching. Criticism; the 'paper'(?) base 'works' but doesn't add to the feel in this shot in my opinion. Perhaps if the focus were not so sharp on it (especially under the limiwi), might have made this even better, or perhaps an 'even distribution', it just is noticeable on that side. Overall a fraction 'sterile' feeling, perhaps a slightly different placement (more fore) of the limiwi, giving a little more 'depth', may have also given this extra. Would like to see similiar texture on that left lime, as is on the slightly out of focus one on the right. Perhaps the 'space' top/bottom shifted so it wasn't so centered, not sure. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

Apologies if wrong, but it looks like the saturation/colors have been processed in a way that it has lost the natural 'complementary' color. I think if perhaps the perspective/angle was a little different, possibly even trying to get just the brick wall as the 'background' (without the window), and a slightly different crop, would have made this a much better picture in my opinion. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/02/2005 07:46:45 PM | crazy catby ZemmComment: Good potential here. Not sure if even 'flipped', it might also make another 'odd' shot - not necessarily better (usually 'best' to stay with 'right way up' in my opinion), but just for a 'different' type of picture. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 12/02/2005 07:43:30 PM | komoto dragonby ZemmComment: This has a good sharp perspective/angle. If the focus were sharper, the colors a bit stronger (and of course the tip of the tail not cut off, (but sometimes you have no choice in these things), would make this an even better shot in my opinion. Also, some more space 'above' the dragon - and it is Komodo - not komoto. Here are some links if you are interested to learn more about them; Komodo National Park - About Komodo Dragons and Komodo Dragons and Their Islands. edit:wording Message edited by author 2005-12-03 15:48:01. | Photographer found comment helpful. |
