7 - Very nice. Nice simple colors. Criticism; not much, perhaps a little more detail in the fore 'grass', but difficult likely. Perhaps angle too, enabling more of the 'DOF' to be incorporated/shown more, possibly a little more height too (not sure), may have made this even better in my opinion. 'Somehow' cropping out that bottom left bit of grass/seedhead(s) too, again angle likely. Not sure on the frame, 'works', especially the color, but the thickness - don't know it complements the delicacy of the grass. Up to 7 from 6.

7 - Very good. Unusual sheet music there for this instrument. Criticism; looks like some gamma (could be grain) issues in the dark areas, especially at the fore. Good focus/focal points, good texture capture on the instrument and good DOF. Perhaps a variation in composition and/or framing may have made this even better, not sure. Up to 7 from 6.

8 - Wow, if this is (and I'll be back PC to see), amazing capture. Very nice colors and light 'use'. Criticism; difficult, depending on what that 'bubble' is, and the detail on it is very good, but perhaps incorporating that fore 'iced strand', may have also added an extra element here, but of course depends on the distance from the 'bubble'. The blue/abstract/object/something middle left in the background slightly detracts from the overall feel, but minor. No idea how, but some type of 'tweaking' of the colors, the whites (obvious contrast issues), and the barely discernable 'greens', may have also made this better - but likely very difficult. An interesting shot. Up to 8 from 7, mainly for the 'unique factor'.

7 - Very nice. Good detail and also good use of the 'shallow DOF'. Criticism; difficult as not sure what this is, but perhaps a little 'straightening' of 'whatever it is', not sure, difficult to tell and doesn't really matter as this is more of an abstract. The colors are nice, but the detail in the glitter/etc is what I like most in this shot. Up to 7 from 6.

7 - No, this has to be an illusion. Good 'capture' either way. Criticism; maybe a fraction tighter crop at the top, still incorporating the balancing 'darkness', but just a little less, and, who knows how, but a fraction sharper on those 'drops', likely make this even better in my opinion. Back to see 'how/what', post challenge. Up to 7 from 6. edit:typo

9 - Very nice capture. Seems nice and sharp, especially against the background, which is also a good 'shallow DOF'. Criticism; not much, perhaps a nudge rotation up on the right to enable a tighter crop on the left to eliminate that 'branch/twig/whatever' top right. Difficult, but trying to 'enhance' the bird to make it 'pop' even more, (no idea how), make this even better in my opinion. Nice colors and simplicity. Up to 9 from 8.

7 - Nice, nice colors and 'feel'. Criticism; difficult, but maybe some more 'space' on the left, not sure. Detail is fairly good in the seedhead/pod, but would like to have seen a little more, if possible (difficult likely), perhaps a tighter cropping (quality dependent) not sure. Looks like this would be hard to adjust the contrast on, but the patterns and dark coloring are nice but again, just like to see more detail, especially in the 'fibres' and texture. Up to 7 from 6.

6 - Unusual. Very good DOF and fairly good sharpness on the needle/thread. Criticism; as unusual as the eyes are used in this way, in my opinion, the 'effect' of them, dominates too much, if that makes sense, especially in this 'context'/composition/'subject'. Difficult to explain - just a little 'weird' with the eyes, no 'offence' intended either, just honest. Perhaps, if using the 'threading a needle' theme, just a slightly more 'side on' angle, may have been better but not sure, as obviously this captures the 'focus' (no pun intended) of trying to thread a needle so not sure. Maybe if they were 'squinting' a little, who knows. Good capture, just unusual. If original, well done. If the focus were as sharp on the thread going into the needle as it appears to be on the pads/skin of the fingers, also make this even better in my opinion. Up to 6 from 5, mainly for the 'unique factor'.

8 - Very nice. Simplicity. Looks like a Eucalypt. Good texture and color capture. Criticism; whilst the frame 'works', and the color is quite complementary, I think I'd have rather seen this 'bigger/wider', at the 'cost' of the frame. Perhaps even more height just for added impact, especially 'here', not sure. Very nice, and good depth of field. Perhaps a fraction more detail/focal area in the uppermost leaves, may have made this even better.

9 - Excellent capture. Good fit for username. Criticism; not much, maybe 640 height too, but you might lose the 'sailing/horizontal' effect, so not sure. Nice colors, especially the whites/grays/silvers. To really nit-pick, perhaps a fraction more detail in the wings/feathers/texture, but difficult, and obviously an opportune capture. Like the water drop(s) capture. I am sure this size doesn't do the quality in this justice. Up to 9 from 8.
