Very cute. If the dogs face was lit up better it might make the photo a bit more pleasing. Though I know when a situation like this presents itself, you can't really shine a light in the dogs face and a flash might just ruin the whole thing.

P.S Is the dog on DPC?

The black and white works well with her, and if that is her normal expression then this is a wonderful shot of her. If the ear ring was diamonds then I could see it being in a People's Jewellers flyer. A more direct light (direct with which way her head is facing) is the only thing I could think of that might add to the image since it would get rid of the shadow that her nose casts. One thing I notice with portraiture is that in nearly all of the widely acclaimed shots, their are no shadows on the front of the face.

I agree with the others. It's an excellent composition, if only the shadow on her face wasn't so dark. I don't think the tattoo is a problem though, except maybe we can't make out what it is.

Very cute. If only the girl was more in focus. I think the photo is a bit dark too, but post processing can minimize that or maybe save it entirely if it was a RAW file.

I like the negative space but a little more of the city would have been nice.

Beautiful shot, which is quite a feat considering it's Calgary. Go Oilers! (This doesn't affect my vote, don't worry =) Sharp and nicely exposed.

The colors are a bit dull and it looks a little out of focus, but it's a neat perspective. I think some more post processing could have made this much nicer looking.

I think this one would have been better if you followed the rule of thirds. The center presentation detracts from the overall effect of the image. Nice focus though and a cool idea.

Not just interesting, very beautiful. It makes it look surreal without making it look unrealistic. (though the water does almost look like it's from a video game (but in a good way)). I love the sunrise(set?) too--it makes it look almost as if the sun is right there behind the mountains.

I can't critique anything except maybe a bit more sky and a bit less rock might have made things a bit more interesting.

Almost looks like the fortress must have been photoshopped in (being that it's in such contrast to the surroundings, not that the photo looks fake). I'm surprised this didn't make the top 10, it looks custom-made for what the general DPC voter wants in a picture. (If such a generalisation can be made)
