i'm afraid i don't understand the title. the image, in its shades of grey, is interesting, but i'm not sure what i'm looking at. they boy appears to be holding a helmet and a covered stick? i find myself feeling frustrated that i can't make sense of it. i do like the light source being in front and off to the left of the model, and i like the action captured in the photo.

the picture is charming, but it appears to be a bit overexposed...the models' faces are washed out a little. and they are so charming, i want to be able to see them clearly! a very nice composition.

great photo. makes me happy to look at. love how happy everyone feels in this image. interesting choice of having the hand/pen be the only thing in focus--puts the official act right in the foreground. i really like this...the composition, the warmth of color treatment, the dof, nicely done! groovy photo! like the composition, like the softness of the b&w. not so sure about the title (are all the people on the bay supposed to be fathers and sons?) but seeing any image of san francisco (my hometown!) is reason to celebrate, in my opinion! : )

nice shot of the older child! great eyes! the color of the baby's outfit is a bit bright/detracting along with the background. i was confused as to what the older child was even holding originally...a doll? a baby? the half-body is a bit awkward, imo.
