Celebration is a personal thing IMHO. When I captured this image, I remembered my friend who lost his dad to cancer just recently. He gave me advice that I will never forget, "Spend as much time with your parents as possible. Celebrate and have fun in your times together. They'll not be around forever".

Hey, whatever is said about whether this is "celebration" or not, it's a great photo. The composition is great as are the tones.

I like the photo and the sails, but compared with other entries in the challenge your photo doesn't immediately say celebration to me. 6

I don't think this photo meets the challenge, but I really like the photo by itself!

Very nice composition and use of B&W.
In a way, the title is what binds this to celebration imo, but a great shot regardless. (6)

Good idea and image I would just crop out a bit more on the left - the bridge suspension tends to lead me out of the image and away from the boats.

groovy photo! like the composition, like the softness of the b&w. not so sure about the title (are all the people on the bay supposed to be fathers and sons?) but seeing any image of san francisco (my hometown!) is reason to celebrate, in my opinion! : )

I'd have liked to see more contrast. Black blacks and white whites. A little too gray.

I don't like the b/w..I think color would have been better...

Very nice BW image. The tonal values are good. It is unfortunate that there are many other boats in the background. This would be good by itself and the bridge.

I wish all the other boats weren't there but still a nice shot!

this is a members challenge so with a bit more time and effort i feel this could be a great photo, I do however like the natural fade but would of prefered it if it was more defined, the 2 figures could be brought to life with a bit of dodging but a good picture -5-

very amazing photo, should be a 10, but im stingy because of the "celebration," so you'll get a 9

This has great geometry and graphic quality. Perfect for black and white. I like the idea AND the title.
