Wonderful expression of light. I just love #10. It's clean lines and sculptural forms somehow remind me of all the Namibia bare tree photographs, but made under very different conditions.

This is really interesting, Henry. I love the dark tones as the heaviness they impart lend themselves to the residue of a bleak period of history for the Taiwanese. I lived in Taipei in the mid-1950's but was too young to be exploring on my own. I do remember semi-dilapidated buildings, crowded together in walled compounds back then. Your essay brings me back to those years even as it documents the current condition of the Japanese legacy in Taiwan.

The photo is great; the explanation is fabulous. Having read it I realize that I'm going through the aging thing too, but I'm a guy so society gives me an 80% pass. The other 20% I deal with. Really love your zeal (if that's the right word).
