Just a bit too dark and noisy. A little neat image would have improved upon this image. Nice idea and well composed.

Great composition and near-flawless lighting. I do find the bright light at the bottom left of the squash-thingy a little distracting. This one fits into the challenge nicely. Nice image overall.

Man, I've been there. Waiting on the laundry and contemplating where the why the hell I let life lead me to this spot. Great job with the toning. You produced a great photograph that is full of emotion. I can't tell if that's a slight tilt or a very wide lens, but it is a little distracting. I think that its a tilt to the right.

Excellent! Priceless body expression and really nice composition. The image is just a little too soft, and I'd like to see the stairs level and without that right hand tilt. Wonderful colors and toning.

Stunning image, but even with the spec, it doesn't hit me as a failure. Nice composition and great work with a tough exposure.

Nice lighting, but the composition is a bit too centered for me. I like your depth of field use to isolate the failure from the success. Good job.

Great toning and excellent silhouette capture. To me, this failure is still a success. If it were me, I'd feel successful in the fact that I sat fishing all day without working even a little bit. Still, a superb image that should finish very strongly.

You captured a very well-composed, very strong image, but I have a hard time understanding its relation to failure. Keep in mind that the average voter spends very little time on each image. The challenge really needs to jump out. Still, great capture. I just don't get it.

The lighting is a great strength of this image. Everything about the subject is perfectly isolated off of the background. I like that. I would like to see more of the guy and his great expression. Composed like this, the head look oddly out of place.

I think that I understand the scene, but I can't read the signs. I called the number, and apparently they are turning the pasta joint into a Mexican Cafe. That could be a success or a failure depending on your taste. I do like the image, but I would have liked to have seen more emphasis on one of the small signs.
